The common theme when cutting any material is to invest the time to understand the materials you’re cutting and how to best set up your laser for success. This is especially true when processing coated materials where cutting without melting is a major challenge that should be avoided at all costs. One cannot over-state the importance of taking the time to run cutting tests in order to dial-in the machine and establish proper machine cutting conditions.
Finally, it’s always a good idea to communicate with your laser manufacturer or dealer if you have any questions of how to best process standard, exotic, coated or other material. Chances are they can offer the information or advice needed to make your laser cutting a success.
